A 21-YEAR-OLD man from Bexleyheath has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for drugs and firearms offences.
Joseph Ryan pleaded guilty yesterday (May 15) to possessing with intent to supply cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis estimated to be worth more than £750,000.
Ryan, of Canberra Road, Bexleyheath, also pleaded guilty to possessing a pistol, a handgun, ammunition for both weapons and CS spray.
Maidstone Crown Court heard that Ryan was arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug last October.
Police searched his home and vehicle and recovered a total of four-and-a-half kilos of cocaine, 15 kilos of skunk cannabis and 76 ecstasy tablets.
Police also found a "substantial" amount of cash.

Offficers then searched a flat in Thamesmead which Ryan was known to use.
In a safe police found two loaded handguns, 136 rounds of ammunition and five cans of CS spray along with two plastic containers of ecstasy tablets.

I agree with you "justice", I can never understand our justice system! It will be interesting to see.
I will probably get shouted at for this but I feel with enough evidence it should be a life for a life, the animal that killed Jimmy did so with intent.

When are the liberal handwringers who supposedly run this vomit-inducing excuse for a so-called country - which I hate and which, did I mention, is going downhill faster than a west country bumpkin at a cheese rolling festival - going to wake up and deal with these indigenous men who are just hell-bent on hoarding weapons and class A drugs?
It makes sick to my stomach. These people are born here, raised here by other people who were born here, they go to school here. And this how they repay us!

Let’s see if I can make it a bit clearer for all that’s interested in this case, I was actually in the court room myself on this case & I personally believe that a 10 year sentence is no way long enough for someone that is TRULY 100% guilty of these offences.
Only the people in the court room can vouch for what happened, the judge & jury was actually on Joes side and knew he was not involved in the firearms or a large part of the drugs so they came to a deal where as if he went not guilty & lost in a very complex argument he could have got 20+ years so he was advised to go guilty so the judge could give him a smaller sentence for the said crimes.(that he did not commit)
Sick I know but true!
Joe DID NOT commit these crimes detailed as they are in the local news, if the reporters did their jobs properly & sat in courtroom you would be reading a very different story now.
His Girlfriend DID NOT live off of any immoral earnings, neither is she a whore.
So although he is actually guilty on paper he is not of the crimes as they are indicated.
I now have a sceptical view of the British legal system & I look at convicted prisoners
In a totally different light.
If I thought my son was guilty of these crimes I would not be sitting here defending him I would wash my hands of him.
Joe is not here to fight his corner and it looks like you have you own fight going on here anyway so I will say goodnight & leave you to it.

Good on Joe's mum for sticking by her boy.... However no barrister would advise an innocent client to plead guilty. Joes mum needs to understand that her son is a violent drug dealer who would be quite prepared to take the life of somebody elses child. That's why he had guns and ammo... He was also quite prepared to peddle in cocaine. I suggests she reads a few web sites like drugscope that explains the effects of drugs, and she looks into the statistics on the death, meyhem and crime that addicts leave behind in the wake of dealers.
Joe's mum and his family I understand. But they and his financee's family should spend the next 4 years (because that's all he will really serve) trying to persuade the financee to look for a real man to father her kids.
I do agree with Joe's mum however that 10 years is far too short for somebody who is guilty of this sort of crime... it's just a pity that she in her loyality to her child does not see that he is guilty. I thought this recent news story from Scotland might help her see her sons destiny if he doesn't change his ways and get out of crime http://news.bbc.co.u

Those who can't be bothered to follow the link. It's a case of a man called Joseph Ryan who in 1997 was given 10 years for cocaine and firearms and today exists no more because he was murdered....
Mum start accepting your boy is a violent drug dealer and start trying to save his life...

He should have a life sentence.
Life meaning, until he is at least 60.
We do not need these people, that feed drugs to others that are then a burden to us all.

Joe's mum sounds about as thick as her sad excuse of a son. She clearly has no grasp of the legal system despite her son's many crimes.
First of all, there would not have been a jury involved. He pleaded guilty so there would not have been a trial.
There would have been no "complex argument". His lawyer would have advised him that if he was found guilty he would have got 20+ years - simple as that. So he admitted the crimes knowing he would have been found guilty later on. There would not have been any "deal" and the judge would not have been "on his side". WHta a load of deluded rubbish.
He IS very much guilty of all the crimes he has admitted to and which he committed.

You seem quite certain that he would not be advised to go guilty; well I think you should take a time & sit in the courts of law and observe, I am certain it will open your eyes as it has mine!
I am not blinkered, you only know what the media write, and I understand this because I would normally read a story & think the same as you, if there was a way for you to see the actual court events you would be amazed.
We never observed him up to no good, neither awash with cash nor driving a car other 21 year olds dream about?
The cars he drove daily belonged to his father.
He did not have anything to do with guns & Ammo and most of the other things that was stated. This was made very clear by the Judge; I can’t understand that if a reporter was supposed to be sitting in the court room why didn’t he bother write about what really happened.
There was only family in this particular court room. NO REPORTER
From now on when I read that someone has been proven guilty I won’t Judge them on what the media write. Because be it my son, I have witnessed a courtroom twist!
I understand your angry comments, I too would normally take the same view but this has totally changed the way I see things.

I do think that from what was wriiten there has been wrong in this young mans life, but you cannot tell me he has done this by himself and im sure there are alot more dangerous people out there.
He has been sentanced and will do his time but what about the others involved because im sure he was not doing this by himself.
There are nasty nasty people out there that get young men like joe involved in crime like this.
Has anyone thought of this.
The british legal system is **** and how is it that a person that can cause harm to a young child (sex offender)is not put in prison and is still aloud to go around the streets, yet if a person does not pay a parking ticket can go in for a prison sentance.
This country needs to start taking control of itself!!!!!!!!!

Joe's Mom, I understand your pain at seeing one of your own children taken to jail, the shame, the press coverage, neighbours whispering behind your back,You see My child also went to prison only she is a girl,at the time a 13yr old girl, they took her away after sentencing just ten days before xmas handcuffed and screaming for me to help her! Her sentence three years. Her crime was robbery, shall i tell you why she commited robbery? An intelligent girl from a good family,in private education,She got to know a 22 year old local drug dealer,"a nice young man" also apparently. He started giving her and her friends soft drugs, then when they needed more started giving them credit, then he came to collect giving them 24 hrs to find 3 hundred pounds,or he would hand them over to someone who would kill them, not able to confront me with what she had done she broke into a house and several vehicles and got caught, she was found with the filth that he had given her on her,so she would have the courage to do the crime,so he could pay off his suppliers. My child did wrong and she was duly punished I did not go crying "not my child" However I rallied and screamed at the lowlife who bought this destruction to my family. My child is 21 now,a mother herself, she moved on and learnt from her punishment, she has her own house and a good career, This is the pain that small time drug dealers dish out to families. I have no compassion for your Son I'm sorry. At 14 my Daughter found her 15yr old cellmate hanging in their cell after breakfast, She still has nightmares that even though she held her up till help arrived she still died,That girls crime very similar to that of my Daughter. This is the reality of drugs in our community,It touches us all from all walks of life.

1st of all at least have the decency to ask me to meet you before you call me thick.
Also every single bit of your comment is absolute BULL
Don’t sit there hiding behind your computer trying to sound legally knowledgeable, YOU WAS NOT IN COURT, the points I made in my 12.30am posting was fact not fiction, There are ways to finding the minutes to the actual court hearing if you are really that interested, I am sure that would satisfy your hunger.
I have never said that I am defending my sons actions as to what he actually did do (But you will not know the actual details of exactly what he did unless you obtain the minutes to the hearing) but I am defending what he has be conveyed as, he is not a violent drug dealer who would be prepared to take the life of somebody else’s child.
He did not have anything to do with guns & ammo…neither most of the other stuff that was found, nor do I not need to look into the statistics on the death, mayhem.
All what I have said can be confirmed by obtaining the minutes, it’s not impossible don’t take my word, go for it, get some real news from the horses mouth.
To unnamed, kent on 3:53pm today
Thank you.

I can totally understand your hate for the man that did this to your child and he is obviously a monster and it takes a certain kind of scum to do this to anyone, but you cannot tar others with the same brush.
I am not crying “Not my child” obviously it was painful seeing my son go to prison
I don’t feel shame, I feel relief, my son has been freed (I am sure you would understand this comment if you knew the case) the press coverage is totally incorrect (This can be proved in the court minutes) my neighbours are not whispering behind my back, the ones that matter know my son & know he is not what is conveyed, my son did not supply young girls with drugs.
I am not going to air my sons’ personal file but I am confident you personally would understand if you knew the truth.
I hope you daughter’s nightmares end & she can enjoy her life.

What bit is wrong? You keep saying 'if you only knew', 'the court minutes' etc.
I'm certainly not going to attempt to claim I know what sort of a person your son is. Maybe he's lovely, maybe he's not. That's not the issue.
What is the issue is that he pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to supply cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis estimated to be worth more than £750,000; and possessing a pistol, a handgun, ammunition for both weapons and CS spray.
You're not disputing these facts, I assume? He did admit to these things? And he has been sentenced on this basis?
Or hasn't he? Can we rely on these as facts? If there's an inaccuracy in the story, the newspaper will have to amend it.

Joe's Mom, You have no need to justify your Son's sentence on here, or of what he was accused of to anyone.Whatever my feelings You are right, I don't know your Son's case and believe me I am not attempting to "tar your Son with the same brush",I know exactly how you are feeling believe me .My thoughts and prayers are with you tonight, and I mean that. It's us Mom's who are left to cope with the aftermath of this mess, but also believe me when I say time will heal, The pain will always remain of watching your child being taken out of reach, but I understand exactly your words when you mention relief. He is your child,You are his Mother If you know in your heart justice has not been done go out and fight for him do not stay here arguing his cause, Look up the Howard league they kept me sane, they are amazing. My thoughts are with you, from one mother to another.

Joe is not here to fight his corner and it looks like you have you own fight going on here anyway so I will say goodnight & leave you to it.

meeting with his solicitor so that he may put forward a reason for his "guilty Plea" I personally would have been delighted to see this man plead NG and get convicted thus receiving a longer sentance - this would have course cost the taxpayer more money BUT as the evidence is so Damming he had no choice but to plead guilty.
No mother likes to see her child put away but perhaps she and others in her family should have questioned where he got all his money from. NOW SHE KNOWS (but of course she knew all along !!)
Another piece of lowlife is now off the streets.

I did not suggest that he was not advised to plead guilty. What I said was that no barrister would suggest that an innocent person pleaded guilty.
I have seen courts in action may times.
I will accept that court reporters do make mistakes, and that what appears in a paper may be slightly different from what ahppenned in the court room. However the newshopper clearly contains indisputable facts. Read it again there is nothing other than the simple facts. Drugs found here, guns found there, plea of guilt, sentence.
Your son is not a small time dealer. He is a major player.
The police undoubtely recieved information he was dealing and built up a case against him. Often this information comes from somebody quite close, perhaps a girlfriend who has found somebody else... a relation who hates drug dealers, a friend who he double crossed, A neighbour who saw the live style of your son for what it was.
Even if we consider that all your son was doing was looking after the gear for somebody else that still makes him a drug dealer. Even if he never intended to use the guns himself it still makes him violent.
Good kids don't have drugs in their house and car. Good kids don't have loaded firearms in a safe house.
You describe my earlier comments as angry. I don't do angry.
Drugs and loaded firearms kill. Your son is a violent drug dealer and you would be better thought of if you spent the next few years waking up to this fact.

When the earlier comments are removed for being inappropriate, anything which refers back to them or quotes them also has to be removed – partly because the debate would not make any sense otherwise, but also because it would be pointless removing bad comments if they are still there for people to read further on in the thread.
As for TJ, for legal reasons comments are not edited, they are simply deleted.

The fact is the pubs and clubs are awash with cocaine nowadays and this is another dealer off our streets. Unfortunately only the tip of the ice berg as there are many many more dealers driving the streets under the illusion they are untouchable and doing nothing wrong. nowadays a gramme of coke is only one or two phone calls away in most cases.

us statement! I suggest you go out there and look at how many deaths occur in the young who take this easily peddled filth. You talk as though drugs are a fashion accessory,as if they are an ok part of everyday life.If I had my way every one caught dealing this rubbish would be locked in a cell and made eat everything they are found with and not allowed to come out till they have,or be made rot amongst the corpses of every dead drug overdose victim.Grow up and instead of trying to look for excuses for a drug pusher go out and talk to the parents of those who have died through this parasite on our society, and to "aimee" I hope when you do have children (If you do) you never have to go and identify your child's body after a drug dealer has earnt a tenner from it.
