Gardeners can make a difference
A NEW campaign is asking gardeners to make London greener.
London Wildlife Trust's Garden for a Living London project asks people to make one of seven pledges to help the city become more resilient to climate change and better for wildlife.
Gardeners are encouraged to plant either drought resistant plants, a mixed hedgerow or a broad-leaved tree.
They can also make a pond, pledge to use mulch, add a green roof to their shed or add plants to their decking.
The charity's chief executive Carlo Laurenzi said: "We all have the power to make a huge difference and we all have a responsibility to do our bit.
"We are asking gardeners to take urgent action"
